About Top Down Clowns
Top Down Clowns is a logbook and leaderboard for top-rope climbing. It's a place to celebrate chuffing.
There are no points for lead climbing. If the rope goes from the top down, it counts. This includes Toprope solo, following pitches, and traditional toproping. Sending is not required for clowning. Just upward progression.
- Gym Climbing — unacceptable, don't log that.
- Jumaring — not climbing despite what the aid bros tell you. Does not count.
- Simul Climbing — only counts if you are the second climber and there is a progress capture device (mini trax etc.) between you and your leader. No trax and you're no longer top roping. Falling should be an option.
- Ice Climbing — allowed under the same antics.
- Leading — if you are leading a pitch and below your bolt or pro, this does not count as toproping. This should be obvious.
At the end of the year, you can claim your membership sticker based on your bracket:

If you cheat, you get a cheater badge. This is an irreversible scarlet letter.
